Multi-tracking is a process where individual instruments or voices are isolated into separate tracks or recordings. These can then be blended together to give much greater clarity to the individual parts, and create a better overall balance and sound. This provides the best quality and flexibility, and allows a project to be built upon over time. Most commercially released recordings are done this way.
